Part Time Support Worker – £9238 pa 22.5 hours per week

We dig canals……..do you?

We are seeking self-motivated, enthusiastic support worker to join our team, working to targeted outcomes developing positive working relationships with our volunteers and enable them to achieve their potential.

This person will help volunteers to develop personal transferable skills and individual plans to achieve this. The outcome of this will also enable a succession planning capability for the Society, whilst helping volunteers improve opportunities for themselves. In some cases, this will assist with return to employment and/or improved careers through conservation and restoration related activities as part of a voluntary team. Additionally the support worker role will include assisting the Society in project administration and planning support activities as well as record maintenance.

The role is seen by the Trustees to be a key enabler for us to support the development of a broad range of volunteer personnel who in turn will help the growth and objectives of the Society and drive the canal restoration forward. Working with the charity’s trustees and management team, you will also help drive community engagement and partnerships delivering an overall greater project capacity. This part-time role will possibly enable the successful applicant to simultaneously undertake personal development training; the Society plans to work closely with Aylesbury &/or Milton Keynes College and other relevant training providers to support the employee outside of the working hours to achieve this.

Some weekend working is essential to this role and hours will be annualised.
