New trustee welcomed

At the Trustee’s meeting held at the Buckingham Town Council Chamber on Thursday 4th September 2014, the executive committee were pleased to welcome Mike Annan as a new trustee of Buckingham Canal Society (BCS).

Mike is a former¬†environmental health officer and fellow of the chartered institute of Housing who following a few years in local government became the CEO of three major housing associations. Following early retirement he and his wife, Judith, ¬†travelled extensively through Europe, Asia and North Africa in their motorhome. In 2012 he got his first narrowboat, joined BCS and ¬†became chairman of CRT’s Navigation Advisory Groups Licensing and Mooring Group. He has been an active volunteer for the IWA branch adoption of the Fenny Stratford Lock, where he lives, and remains actively involved in numerous canal activities and the work of CRT.

Mike’s appointment as a trustee was unanimously approved and brings our trustee count to eight.

It was also agreed at the meeting that the executive committee will meet every month in the Council Chamber throughout next year.
