Grant for Buckingham Canal Society

The BCS has received a grant from WREN (Waste Recycling Environmental Limited) to restore Hyde Lane Lock. The work started at the end of May and was carried by Pauley Construction Ltd. To celebrate the completion of the work the BCS held a celebration day on Sunday 12th October. An interpretation board funded by Milton Keynes Heritage Association was installed. This gives the history of the canal with maps and photos and also gives details about the work of the society.

The site is owned by BBOWT (Berks, Bucks, Oxon Wildlife Trust) and is part of a Nature Reserve. It is also on part of the North Ouse Valley walk and therefore will be seen by the walkers, fishermen and others.
