Amazing volunteers keep bridge build on track

Thanks to our band of intrepid trainee navvies who outdid themselves this weekend. Alas the weather was not frosty enough so the farmer was unwilling to let us use the farm track. So nearly 20 of us over the weekend collectively moved nearly 5 tonnes of MOT1 sub base (gravel) across the lock at Cosgrove in buckets and barrows to take it to the bridge site.

That has enabled us to be on schedule with the sleepers in place in the bridge void ready for form work to start being built.

For those wondering, the sleepers are laid East West and the board bracing them are North South screwed into the sleepers
