As well as our regular features, this issue also includes:

  • Athina Beckett describes the Society’s ongoing restoration work, including the installation of a new solar powered extraction pump at Bourton Meadow, and the continuing effort with the towpath at Hyde Lane as record breaking long distance corporate volunteer workers attend.
  • Ros Woodford talks of her and husband Jeremy’s once in a lifetime invitation to the Palace of Westminster as BCS representatives for “The Great British Spring Clean” campaign.
  • Terry Cavender writes about a fun day out to acquire some second hand equipment from Elsecar Heritage Centre near Wakefield.
  • Terry Cavender also tells us about the growing number of generous donations earmarked for the bridge restoration at Cosgrove, including a very generous £10,000 left in a legacy by former IWA Northampton Committee member John Faulkner.
  • Jim McIlroy muses over last year’s leisurely BCS River Great Ouse boat trip, giving us a rather thoughtful and reflective viewpoint of one man’s journey.
